There was panic and utter silence among a section of the congregation at Lira Cathedral Church on Easter Sunday after a woman surprisingly went on a labour pain amidst the Church service.

When it was noted that the lady could deliver any moment, the ushers and other women rushed her out to the compounds where they later used the cover of the flowers to help her deliver a bouncing baby boy.

Incidentally, Rev. Fr. Leone who had moments earlier conducted the the Sacrament of Baptism to about 100 children, made a special baptism on the ten-minute old baby whom the congregation shouted in chorus that he be baptised as Leone.

Bishop Franzelli who witnessed the baptism described the birth and the baptism of the baby as welcoming the new life which comes with the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
