Discontented residents of Kayago parish in Namsale town council in Amolatar district have burnt down grass-thatched house belonging to one of the two suspects in the murder of a fisherman whose body was recovered floating on Lake Kyoga.

On Thursday last week, residents were shocked after discovering the body of a fisherman called Amandua Samuel floating at Kayago landing site after he was killed by suspects

Two suspected men in the murder were only identified as Mehdi and Monday all from Kayunga district but currently trading in Amolatar district.

The duo were arrested on Sunday but police later received reports that disgruntled people mobilized in a group at midday and torched Mehdis house where all the properties were burnt.

The Resident District Commissioner for Amolatar Richard Ogwang Odyero who rushed to the scene to rescue situation, called on the residents to calm down as the police carry on with the investigations.
